A fall hat, ISU of course and the corn in my back yard

This is a little hat, little being the key, I knitted up in a couple of days. CLOUD 9 yarn, on size 5 DPNs. Way too small for any of my kids. Look out little cousins another hat is on it's way. And the corn, in my backyard, I sure wish it was gone, along with the mice!! Thanks must be given to my photographer Jenifer H. We had an imprompto birthday party for Richy, 42 today and it was a beautiful day for pictures. Watch the nasty comments on the pic above......

On with Fall......

This is a sweater I finished this fall. Knit Picks worsted shine. I hope CeCe enjoys it. Sister Amy did alot of the "putting together". I had the arms done, but Amy suggested I take it all apart and do it another way. So, I did. I will definately be using this yarn again.
The right picture are a few of the mittens I have finished ( 8 pairs in all). A variety of yarn. Oh, a new LYS.....THE YARN BASKET....Carroll, IA....a must see. Very good variety and good prices. They have retreats, lessons, knit ins, and good help.

OOPS, RAGBRAI--August

RAGBRAI was in August. I am a month behind.

Summer and Fall Happenings

Always begin at the beginning. Well, July anyway. This is our RAGBRAI trip. Saturday morning before I knew what I was in for. The riders and the "support team". We, Jodi, (lower right, second person, next to Tom)Maggie, Molly Repp and me did ALOT more than support. We WORKED our A__es off. Each day we were up at 6:30 or earlier, took down the tents, because each afternoon we set them up. We made sure the RV, aka "Dutch Oven" was WELL cooled, the electricity was working, the cooler was full of beer, pop, ice and water. We made sure the clothes line was up because we did laundry BY HAND in a plastic tote and biking shorts and shirts needed to be washed each day. Then it was time to find something for them to snack on after that days' ride. Finally at 6 pm or so, we had to ride, or walk somewhere for dinner.RAGBRAI is not for me. One night it rained and thundered ALL night. Everyday was 90+ degrees. I drove the RV,it was huge, I drove a VW at the time. Here are some more pics from RAGBRAI, by the way I will not be going ever again.
