A fall hat, ISU of course and the corn in my back yard

This is a little hat, little being the key, I knitted up in a couple of days. CLOUD 9 yarn, on size 5 DPNs. Way too small for any of my kids. Look out little cousins another hat is on it's way. And the corn, in my backyard, I sure wish it was gone, along with the mice!! Thanks must be given to my photographer Jenifer H. We had an imprompto birthday party for Richy, 42 today and it was a beautiful day for pictures. Watch the nasty comments on the pic above......

On with Fall......

This is a sweater I finished this fall. Knit Picks worsted shine. I hope CeCe enjoys it. Sister Amy did alot of the "putting together". I had the arms done, but Amy suggested I take it all apart and do it another way. So, I did. I will definately be using this yarn again.
The right picture are a few of the mittens I have finished ( 8 pairs in all). A variety of yarn. Oh, a new LYS.....THE YARN BASKET....Carroll, IA....a must see. Very good variety and good prices. They have retreats, lessons, knit ins, and good help.

OOPS, RAGBRAI--August

Pics from RAGBRAI. The road, the RV, the heat, the ride, the church in Dyersville, and Lee eating.

RAGBRAI was in August. I am a month behind.

Summer and Fall Happenings

Always begin at the beginning. Well, July anyway. This is our RAGBRAI trip. Saturday morning before I knew what I was in for. The riders and the "support team". We, Jodi, (lower right, second person, next to Tom)Maggie, Molly Repp and me did ALOT more than support. We WORKED our A__es off. Each day we were up at 6:30 or earlier, took down the tents, because each afternoon we set them up. We made sure the RV, aka "Dutch Oven" was WELL cooled, the electricity was working, the cooler was full of beer, pop, ice and water. We made sure the clothes line was up because we did laundry BY HAND in a plastic tote and biking shorts and shirts needed to be washed each day. Then it was time to find something for them to snack on after that days' ride. Finally at 6 pm or so, we had to ride, or walk somewhere for dinner.RAGBRAI is not for me. One night it rained and thundered ALL night. Everyday was 90+ degrees. I drove the RV,it was huge, I drove a VW at the time. Here are some more pics from RAGBRAI, by the way I will not be going ever again.

These pics were taken in Glenwood, at John Paul's concert. Cute Kids!! Notice Jane's new haircut. Straight and long.
This is my first gardenia grown on my back deck. It lasted only a few days. It will probably be the only gardenia I grow. They're very picky little flowers!

The Sweater, Softball, and the Mullet

This picture (above) we couldn't resist. The mullet, the t-shirt.....nuf said.

I don't know if she bunted or hit. But it looks good.

This is Maggie on her tournament team. The Adel tournament 6-1-07 got rained out, but this was Saturday afternoon, before the rain hit! Mag bats 2nd and gets on base someway or another!! The game last Friday night she scored 4 of their 10 points in 3 extra innings!! Enough Bragging.

Here's the tiny neck, I mentioned earlier.

The above Picture is of the back. These are my first cables. They are backwards. I switched the front and back of the and ended up cabling on the inside of the back, oh well.

Finally, the sweater is finished. This is the front (it looks better than the back). The neck is pretty SMALL. It is made of Debbie Bliss DK alpaca silk. Very soft, my new favorite.

Iowa School of Rock Concert

A few pictures of the concert. The crowd and mostly Andy. It was about 100 degrees in the concert hall. 3 hours later we were done! The guitar Andy uses is a Les Paul by Epiphone. Notice the brilliant shine.

Spring Time photos

Finally some work to show off. With the help of sister Amy and many phone calls the socks are coming together. Sassy strips I believe. Also a sweater that I hope will see a front and sides!! I love this yarn. Debbie Bliss DK cashmere wool. Thanks to all who could attend Andy's concert Saturday night 3 hours of blood sweat and tears! Especially the sweat!! Pictures to come!!

Well, another hat finally finished. Something I've never done....I-cords...easy. I think I need to move on to something besides hats. Three colors was fun, a little confusing and I used, for the first time, dpns.

more pics

These hats I made this winter. No one would wear, but none the less cute. This is my notebook that I keep patterns, notes and an inventory of every piece of knitting accessory that I have. (so I don't double buy). The last photo shows everything I carry to and from work. In case there's a moment in my day to knit! Even a stitch or two gets it closer to being done. I'll show off my supply of yarn someday. B

MORE PICS....

This is a knitting board that brother Rich made. White oak, stained it's beautiful. I am starting a blanket. It will be 3 panels of 18 inch wide Lion Brand Chunky, black, charcoal, and gray. However, I am still waiting for my yarn to get here!! It's makin me crazy. knittingboard.com has the directions for starting with a knitting board. It's VERY simple, I think it would be a great craft for kids.

This is a hat I made of wool. It's one of my Favs!! Mag wasn't to thrilled to be in the picture. But I loved the hat. circulars and wool--my favorite B
